St. Vincent’s Medical Center Nationally Recognized for Breast Health

St. Vincent’s Medical Center has earned the distinction of Certified Quality Breast Center, the second-highest recognition awarded by the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC) for the second consecutive year.
This elite recognition places St. Vincent’s among the top breast centers in the country, meeting or exceeding 75% of more than 23 national quality benchmarks. These measures evaluate performance across critical areas of breast health, comparing outcomes to peer institutions nationwide.
“Achieving this level of recognition speaks to the dedication of our entire breast care team,” said Valerie Brutus, MD, regional breast surgical director, St. Vincent’s Medical Center. “We are proud to offer our patients care that meets the highest standards in the country, and we look forward to continuing this journey toward becoming a Center of Excellence.”
The NQMBC program guides breast centers through a tiered recognition process. Centers begin as participants and can advance to Certified Quality Breast Center status by consistently meeting rigorous quality standards. St. Vincent’s continued success at this level demonstrates its commitment to excellence, consistency and patient-centered care.

With this achievement, St. Vincent’s is now on track to reach the program’s highest honor: Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence, awarded to centers performing in the 90th percentile nationwide.
